History and explanation of square rings

What a square ring is

A square ring is a lathe-cut or molded square-section seal. Some static face and flange jobs prefer the flat contact of a square wall.

AS568 dash compatibility

Dashes align with AS568 so catalogs stay simple. Because the wall is square (and often slightly thinner than the round-cord CS), do not assume a square ring and an O-Ring of the same dash are identical in squeeze without checking the numbers above.
